Lifeline Community Center

hello my Name is samantha miller. I live in Winton, CA. I am the youth leader at a small community building called "lifeline community center" What we did was got the local kids together and talked to them about what they would like to change about our town and how we could do that. So we started getting clothes and food together and would take them to people we felt they would benefit. Their was a family who had no electricity no heat and it was the middle of winter the coldest time of the year and had no warmth. So we got all the blankets we could and took them over to them. Baby clothes for familys we knew of that had not many. Took can foods and clothes to a drug house. A woman and her kids needed help cleaning their house in order to keep it because of the landlord. She didnt ask for help we did it for her knowing she needed it. We got all the kids together and cleaned up her house from top to bottom. We teach the children and even the adults how wonderful it is to help someone. When we know they are in need of something and dont feel comfortable to ask or who are ashamed to ask. After we started to guide the kids. They would come back on the group nights and share with us things they had done on their own. Some of the kids got together and mowed some peoples lawns. Walked some dogs, Washed some cars. On their own no one asked them to do it they felt the pleasure of the favor was enough. It is so wonderful that we can all get together as a nation and do so many favors and just pay the favor forward. Teaching people all over the world to "pay it forward" Thank you for the opportunity to share our story i appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Samantha MIller
