| Dear Ms. Hyde, The story I am about to tell you is coming straight from my heart. To be honest I have run into more roadblocks that I would like to think about. People have laughed at me. People think it's a joke. Yet something keeps me going and I think it is the sweet spirt of the man I am trying to help. Here is my "Ongoing Good Deed": My name is Jonathan Grant and I am trying to help a local homeless man in Los Angeles, named Edward Harris, get off the streets and into a job. About a year ago I met this sweet and caring man sitting in front of a 7-11 reading a bible with this look of hopelessness I haven't seen in a long time. For some reason instead of giving him change (like everyone else) I started talking to him. I found out that he is a sweet, caring religious man who has a heart of gold and just happens to be homeless. He told me he has been clean and sober for over 6 years and at that point I knew I had to do something. Since I don't have the financial resources myself to help him I had to think of a creative way "outside the box" to help this guy. I was inspired by the guy who traded the red paperclip all the way up to a house. So, close to a year ago, I started the same thing but this time trying to help someone truly in need. I started out with a blue pushpin and have since traded up 5 items. Currently I have a NEW IN BOX Apple G5 with Cineman Display monitor worth close to $3,000! I am NOT looking for cash or even donations!!! All I am asking is that you please read below to see my main goal in this whole trading venture. My goal is to continue to trade up items, one after another, until someone comes forward to offer him a safe place to stay RENT FREE for 6 months (While he searches for a job) OR/AND A Full Time job with 2 weeks bonus pay (So he can search for a place to live.) It doesn't have to be in Los Angeles. Edward would be honored to make a fresh start in really any city that would be welcoming. This is all about a normal guy just trying to do the right thing!*** As I mentioned I have completed 5 trades so far but now have hit a total road block. People either offer things that aren't even close or they think this is some kind of joke or scam....which it is not. Infact all I am asking for is for you to please spread the word, take a look at my website and give me your opinion, etc. Ofcourse any trade offers would be taken into consideration and remember you would be receiving the new Apple G5, Cinema Display Monitor and hopefully some press for doing a "good deed." Since no one from the media wants to cover this story, I now have to try to get the word across "GRASSROOTS" if you will.
