I very much doubt that I would still be alive today had it not been for Mr Sean.
13 March 2008, D-day - the day I was going to end my life. Most preparations done and goodbye letters sent out. One outstanding detail was how the Organ Donor Foundation was going to get my organs (which I had decided to donate). An email I sent them 2days prior 11March2008 was forwarded to Mr Sean, who (after a 30min call on the morning of
D-day) counselled me through a series of sessions. This helped give me perspective and uproot issues which penultimately led me to suicide.
It occured to me last Sunday that I can cement my new lease on life and practically express my gratitude by paying it forward.
I happened to be passing a residence in my community that has always been an eyesore for years due to the state of its garden-turned-jungle. Instead of passing by like before, I knocked, introduced myself, asked if I may do their garden and when asked why told the owner about 'Pay It Forward'. For the next 4days I returned to work on the 'jungle'. Many blisters and sore body later I am proud of myself!
I saw the movie a few years ago, hindered only by the grand plans I had requiring lots of money to put it into practice. I realise now that the deed needn't be a mammoth task; even a simple act can have a monumental effect on the recepient as in my case. My aunt is a teacher at a primary school and I'm working with her to try and implement the concept there. Thank You
