Applewood Plumbing, Heating & Electric Begins 'Crazy 12 for 12' Pay-It-Forward Campaign

LAKEWOOD, Colo., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Oprah made "pay it forward" popular when she gave $1,000 each to members of her studio audience last November and asked them to use the money to do good.

But a Lakewood company started its own "pay it forward" campaign months before Oprah issued her challenge. And this month, Applewood Plumbing, Heating & Electric is starting the second year of its "Crazy 12 for 12" campaign to support local nonprofits by providing 12 checks for $1,000 each to local nonprofits nominated by area residents over
the next year.

"It's an opportunity to have an impact with smaller organizations where $1,000 can really make a powerful difference," said John Ward, owner of Applewood Plumbing, Heating & Electric. "Last year's Crazy Campaign helped thousands with needed programs, resources and educational opportunities."

Nominations can be submitted at the Applewood web site blog, http://www.applewoodfixit.com/. Winners are selected from a random drawing each month and recognized on the company's web site. Previous winners include: Hope House, Wheat Ridge Foundation, Lost & Found, Colorado Freedom Memorial, Metro Food Bank and the Jefferson Symphony among others.

Applewood Plumbing, Heating & Electric has served the entire Denver/Boulder Metro areas for more than 34 years. The company has consistently been rated one of the nation's top 10 service companies by their customers and has achieved the Nexstar Network Select Service rating.
