Pay It Forward is this year's book selection.

The book by Catherine Ryan Hyde tells the story of a 12-year-old boy who creates a plan of action to create a kind world.

Organizers say the goal of Peoria Reads! is to bring the community together, increase dialog, and to get more people reading.

You can check out a copy of the book from the Peoria Public Library, or purchase one at any local bookstore.

In connection with this year's book selection, Peoria Reads! launched The Giving Game.

Anyone who purchases Pay It Forward will receive a game card. The rules are simple...perform an act of kindness, leave a game card with your kind act, then register the story on-line.

The Giving Game was founded in response to the events of 9-11.
